Living in the Mountains of Vermont

Living in the mountains of VermontA Day in the Life… Hike, Bike, Ski, Have Fun

I have on occasion decided that the weather is just too perfect to stay inside. It’s like that, sometimes, when you are living in the mountains of Vermont. But trust me, it does not happen often. I am self employed, and while we self employed entrepreneurs have flexible hours, the reality is we generally work many more  than is reasonable. However, when you know it is going to be great skiing and you do not have any set appointments, well…

Hellooo flexibility!

lea skiing at smuggs 2 - smallA phone call from a good friend the night before was all I needed to get my gear ready so I could be out the door at the crack of dawn. While we did not get first chair, we were perhaps the 10th or 11th skiers going up the hill that morning. I love Smugglers’ Notch! The chair lifts are not as fast as some of the more glamorous mountains and a few things are a touch antiquated, but it is home, and it feels so familiar. Ride the lift with your good friend, chat and catch up, then get off the lift and point them down the hill for some great sliding.

Do you see the very happy look on my face in this snapshot of me playing hooky?  I say this often, and not to be repetitive, BUT…

“We drive to work but we come home to play.” Come visit us in Pleasant Valley at the foot of Mount Mansfield and see what it is that makes us so happy. It will make you happy, too!

Hike, bike, ski, have fun!
