Known for its stunning Round Church (a rare, 16-sided meetinghouse built in 1812-1813), Richmond is a picture-perfect setting for many weddings, fairs, festivals, and farmer’s markets year-round. Residents are avid hikers, cyclists, cross-country and downhill skiers; taking advantage of local Cochran’s Ski Area, and mountain roads and trails galore. Local students attend Mount Mansfield Union High School, Camel’s Hump Middle School, And Richmond Elementary School. Richmond is a part of the Chittenden East School District, which includes the townsof Underhill, Jericho, Richmond, Bolton, and Huntington.
Richmond is a thriving small community, with lots of live music, a popular local downtown market, and several other shops and acclaimed restaurants.
