Cambridge Vermont is located in Lamoille County and is the home of Jeffersonville and Smugglers’ Notch ski area. Both Cambridge and Jeffersonville have quaint village settings and scenic country roads. “Jeff” is at the base of Smugglers’ Notcth Ski Resort and has a couple of restaurants, inns, hardware store, and other village stores, and is also home to a vibrant arts community.
The above photo is from Lower Pleasant Valley Road, just south of Cambridge. The view is one of the most photographed in Lamoille County. This blog’s photos feature views from both Lower and Upper Pleasant Valley Valley Roads. I drove a loop going north on Pleasant Valley Road, took the right fork onto Upper Pleasant Valley Road, then turned left on Bryce Road where I took the photo below, looking back from where I had come.
Continuing north on Bryce Road I came to Lower Valley Road and turned left, completing the loop back to Pleasant Valley Road.
Lamoille County is more rural and less populated than Chittenden County to the west. As you can see the views in the Pleasant Valley area do not disappoint. I had a friend from NJ once say, “Well, if you could live on a view, this would be the place to live.” And that’s my point. If you want, you can live on a scenic country road and have beautiful views like these every day.
Come back for my next blog of scenic country roads in Jeffersonville and Smugglers’ Notch Resort, like the one below.
