Smuggler’s Notch, my drive to work

Everyday while the weather permits I enjoy the most fabulous drive to work, lately it was looking something like this:

Yes not too bad! Love this drive to work it is incredibly beautiful and I absolutely love the winding and climbing road of Smuggler’s Notch. Route 108 is the road that brings you from Stowe VT to Cambridge VT or from Stowe Ski area over to Smuggler’s Notch ski area.

If you do take this route note that every morning somewhere between 8:00-10:00 there is a gentlemen that walks up to the top and picks up trash …everyday! I love this guy and would offer his name or a photo to thank him but when I stopped one day to stay thanks and introduce myself he was somewhat quiet and maybe shy. So let’s call him ’Paul’ and thank him for his efforts to keep the Notch as pretty and clean as possible. If you see someone heading up with a plastic bag in hand, toot and wave!

Enjoy The Notch for now as when winter comes, the only way to travel is by snow shoe, skiing or walking.

This picture is of Vermont Hwy 108 thru Smugglers Notch from Jeffersonville to Stowe, at peak of foliage season 2019, taken from a drone. The best I have ever seen of the notch. I can not taken credit for this picture. The drone pilot did a great job and I would be happy to give them credit!
