As you probably know, Vermont winters are all about snow. Downhill skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing can only be enjoyed in winter. And after a day of any of these, nothing beats sipping wine by a cozy fire. Now that we finally have some some snow, here are my Top 3 Must Do’s for a Vermont Winter.
1. Rusty Dewees Winter Series at Stowe Town Hall
Known as “The Logger,” Dewees has brought together a line-up of some of Vermont’s best performers to entertain you this winter. The shows run January through March. Find a complete schedule at Rusty Dewees.
2. Explore Stowe’s Preserved Land on Snowshoes
Learn more about Stowe’s conserved lands or simply have a great time snowshoeing with friends and family in Stowe’s most pristine locations. Get more information at Stowe Land Trust.
3. Check out Craftsbury Outdoor Center
This is where you can enjoy world-class skiing in the beautiful and remote Northeast Kingdom. They have groomed trails for beginners to experts, dedicated snowshoe trails, and delicious, healthy food in the dining hall. Find out more at Craftsbury Outdoor Center.
Do one of these in the first three months of 2016 and you will know what a Vermont winter is all about.
